Dance Dress Code:
Dancewear and dance shoes must be worn to all classes. All classes require tights and leotard with the exception of the Jazz/Hip Hop combo class. Optional dress for this class is Jazz pants or capris and a tight tank top or dance shirt. Failure to wear required dancewear to class could result in students being asked to sit out of the class. Repeated failure to wear required dancewear could result in termination of lessons. Students are not permitted to wear jeans, shorts, or street shoes. Dance shoes are never to be worn outdoors! For safety reasons, dancers are asked not to wear jewelry and hair must be tied back and out of the face at all times. Music students must keep nails trimmed and clean; no artificial nails.
Music Recital Attire:
Boys must wear "Sunday best" suit or slacks & button up shirt - no tennis shoes.
Girls must wear "Sunday best" dress, skirt or slacks & blouse - no tennis shoes.
Attendance and Tardiness:
Please call if a student will be absent so the teacher can be informed. The studio reserves the right to have dance students who come late to class sit out of the class due to the importance of warming up. Three tardies will count for one absence. An injured or ill student (without a fever) may come to watch the class and will count as attending. For music & dance private lessons, a 24 hour notice must be given if a class is going to be missed in order to schedule a make-up time at the teacher’s convenience.
Care of Students:
The studio is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students; therefore, students are asked not to arrive more than 5-10 minutes before class starts. The parking lot and lobby has limited space and we appreciate your cooperation in this matter. The studio doors remain locked until 10 minutes before the first class of the day. Students should not wait outside the studio at any time. Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on studio property from any activity conducted by the students before, during or after class.
Photo Release:
The studio is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students to use in brochures, web sites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials the studio creates. Permission is also hereby granted for the studio to copyright such photographs in its name.
Expectations:
Students need to come to class with a positive attitude, ready to perform and be prepared for learning. Music students are expected to practice at home. Our mission is to establish a fun, positive atmosphere and to build self-esteem and confidence.
Miscellaneous:
Parents and students are to be aware that the studio approves our dance teachers to have water and a snack during teaching. Dancing, as a profession, is physically demanding and proper body care is essential.
If severe weather occurs, please call the studio after 3 PM for cancellations.
